1) Does it matter which flotation I use?
.
Answer: You can use any flotation solution you want to use. Just know that if you are using a sugar solution, you should use a centrifuge, as sugar is viscous and actually slows down the flotation, evern though it is a good solution to use. Also when using sugar
2) Do I have to use a centrifuge with the SqueezeTest?
Answer: It has been shown by many academicians that centrifuging always improves yields. However, the SqueezeTest will give you the highest yield possible with simple flotation, but centrifugation always improves yields.
3) When I try to enter solution through the cut top, the fluid hangs up above the screen. What am I doing wrong?
Answer: With sugar, because of its viscosity you need to remove the cap to add solution. With other solutions you do not need to remove the cap unless you wish, and to prevent any air lock just keep the screen tilted a bit off level. This is usually not a problem.
4) How much fecal sample can I use?
Answer: This is the BEAUTY to the SqueezeTest in that U can add up to 3 grams, but 1-2 grams is best. Within reason the larger the sample the better the yield of ova. And the SqueezeTest allows for the largest sample of any packaged convenient method.
